History



The Myanmar Theological College (MTC) was founded in 1937 by Revd. Denis Reed, who was one of the ministers and members of the Methodist Church Overseas Department (MCOD). The College is, however, not newly established institution, an extension and renovation but with along history and a rich background.  The former name was Theological Training Institute (TTI). It was three years course, especially known as Methodist Minister Training School. 

It was the year 1087 the hallmark of the Methodist Church Upper Myanmar (MCUM) that the Centennial Jubilee of the MCUM as well as the Golden Jubilee of the Bible School. From that time on, the School Board upgraded for Theological Degree College level. Four years courses for Bachelor of Theology (B.Th,), and Licentiate in Theology (L.Th), Three years courses for Master of Divinity (M.Div.), and Master of Arts in Christian Study (MACS).


The College is a full member of Association for Theological Education in Myanmar (ATEM) as well as Association for Theological Education in Southeast Asia (ATESEA).


The College situates on the corner of 28th and 70th Streets, Chan Aye Tharzan Township, Mandalay, Myanmar.
